Michelle Deshong

Managing Director

Michelle Deshong is a Kuku Yalanji woman with extensive experience in both the public and private sectors, having held senior executive roles including CEO of the Australian Indigenous Governance Institute and Interim CEO of Supply Nation. With a strong focus on Indigenous business development, leadership, and governance, she has contributed to various national and international forums and received prestigious awards such as the National NAIDOC Scholar of the Year and the Fulbright Indigenous Professional Scholarship.

Shikierra Thorne is a proud Gamilaroi and Kuku Yalanji woman with a rich and diverse background in government, community sector roles, and event logistics. She brings extensive experience in organizing and executing First Nations forums, workshops, youth programs, and gala dinners.

Project Officer, Health & Wellbeing

Tiana Thorne is a proud Gamilaraay and Kuku Yalanji woman, an Exercise Physiologist, and PhD candidate focused on cardiovascular disease in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. With a strong passion for cultural integration in physical activity, she facilitates Traditional Indigenous Games with clarity, organization, and adaptability to diverse groups

I am a JCU alumnus with a Bachelor of Arts in Indigenous Studies and am currently pursuing a Master of Philosophy focused on Indigenous people’s future positioning. With experience in event management, media production, and leadership, I am committed to empowering future Indigenous leaders and fostering community engagement.
